GPU-accelerated Monte Carlo neutron transport for Apple Silicon
This project ports the OpenMC neutron transport code to Apple's Metal API, enabling high-performance nuclear simulations on M-series chips. It provides a drop-in replacement that maintains high accuracy (within 10 pcm of fp64) while offering up to 21x throughput over CPUs. It is designed for nuclear engineers and researchers who need portable, high-performance simulation capabilities without needing a CUDA cluster.
